What is foreign plate insurance?

Foreign plate insurance (Yabancı Plakalı Araç Sigortası) is compulsory cover for any vehicle registered outside Turkey that is driven on Turkish roads. It includes mandatory third-party liability (Trafik Sigortası) and is required at border crossings. Without it, your vehicle can be impounded.

What is DASK insurance?

DASK (Doğal Afet Sigortaları Kurumu) is compulsory earthquake insurance for all residential properties in Turkey. It is required by law for utility connections and for most property transactions. Annual premiums are based on property size and location.

Can I get insurance without a Turkish residence permit?
