Common Questions

Income requirement — FAQ

What income counts towards the Turkey residence permit threshold?

Employment income, freelance and self-employment earnings, pensions, rental income, and dividends all count — provided you can document them. The PMM (Provincial Migration Management) accepts a wide range of income sources as long as you supply the appropriate supporting documents.

What documents prove income for a Turkey residence permit?

Accepted documents include bank statements (typically 3–6 months), payslips from an employer, a pension award letter, or a signed accountant letter for self-employed applicants. All foreign-language documents should be notarised and, where required, apostilled.

Can I combine income with my spouse to meet the requirement?

Yes. For family residence permit applications, combined household income is assessed against the total threshold for all applicants. If both spouses submit their income together, the PMM evaluates the household total — not each individual separately.
